The Home Remedy™ putter is intended for serious fun. It is designed for the golfer who likes to tinker with his clubs. It is useful for the amateur club designer, but also the professional. It provides a means of inexpensively getting to the functional prototype level of club development. It allows the designer to by pass the expense of the CAD drawing and the machining of the prototypes which may cost as much as $25,000. A putter of your vision can be assembled at a fraction of the cost and be ready for testing. Although any of the assembled putters are playable, they would have to be submitted for USGA determination of conforming to the rules of golf before use in competition. If purchaser has that desire, then we may be of assistance on the necessary steps. Contact us by email.
Technical Features: This is the most creative of all our putters. It has multiple modules so that the golfer may personalize and customize their putter. When all the parts and modules are considered, there are almost 200 million possible combinations. Yes, that is 200 million. We doubt that anyone approaches that figure, but it does point out that you can design pretty much any weighting system or geometry you desire.
Design: Home Remedy™ comes in modules ready for personalized assembly. There is a central body with holes for central or heel shaft insertion. There is one 35 inch straight shaft with a grip. There are two face shapes; rolled and 4 degree flat. There are 32 modular weights of two masses. There are 16 of aluminum and 16 of brass. The modules come packed in Velour pouches. There is a back plate and 3 lengths of color coded screws for fixation of the assembly.
Instructions: The booklet that comes with the putter includes instructions, results of our testing and preprinted work sheet layouts for your record keeping of testing. See the booklet on this site for expanded explanation of Home Remedy™.
Options: Additional modules and screws are available upon request. Long putter center module is available upon request.
Finishing: The finish is intentionally industrial. There is a sight line on top and an engraving on the sole plate. The paint fill is left up to the owner's discretion. Parts remain unfinished to leave the maximal creativity for the golfer for their personalized finish.
Independent Testing: Testing was done on 5 weighting configurations with two different strike faces; rolled and flat. These configurations will accompany the putter with diagrams of the weighting and the test results. This information will provide a basis for the golfer to build their personalized version.
Averages were as follows for the 10 tested constructs. The detailed results with photographs of the constructs are in a booklet that accompanies the putter.
Weights: 335 to 408 grams.

Shaft Placement: To test if shaft placement affected the performance of the head, the shaft of the HR #10 with a flat face was shifted to the heel drill hole. This changed the results and improved the Putting Efficiency Index.

Summary: It appears that for this design, the heel/toe weighting and similar back weighting are the same with light weights.
The best testing was on rolled face and moderate back underside weighting (#5). #5 was an attempt to replicate the Pro Forma-R™ putter.
The worst testing was on rolled face that had moderate back heel/toe weighting (#9).
With heavier weighting, the back weighting did best with solid fill and back central weighting (#7) as opposed to no central fill.
Shaft placement affects the results.
The "perfect putter" is the result of the best combination of five factors: face geometry, head geometry, head weight, weight distribution and shaft site insertion. Happy hunting!
